You're my guardian angel, Abbey, " she said as she climbed into the car." No, not really, Sam. I'm just a messenger."" But that’s what angels are. That’s how God says, 'I'm here, and it's going to be all right.

In the novel The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, Rachel Mcadams, a young woman who is dying of cancer, writes a letter for her son. In the letter she tells him how important he is to her and how much she loves him. She says that she has been praying for a guardian angel to help keep her safe and keep her from doing anything that would hurt them again. As she writes, she sees a young man walking by with a bundle of flowers. She tells him that he is her guardian angel and that he is here to protect her son and make sure that everything will be alright.
